Different types of braces

In some types of wrong bites you can get a removable braces, which can be removed when you for example have to eat or brush your teeth.

A brace attached is commonly used to move the teeth. It may look differently and be located on the back or the front of your teeth.

The most common is a braces with brackets in the form of small plates of metal – often called “rails” – but the brackets can also be made of plastic or ceramic. The brackets glued to the teeth fronts and can not be removed when such should brush your teeth.

Braces – Care instructions

With braces, you get to innovate and take care of your mouth extra carefully. Here are tips and advice.

At the beginning feels braces often above and uncomfortable. The teeth may be sore and braces can chafe. It usually disappear within a week. Maybe you need to put some wax, which you get from your dentist, the parts that rub.

Orthodontic braces does not wear on your teeth, but it can form bacteria and tooth decay in braces. Therefore, you are betting extra on your oral hygiene. Morning and evening, you need to manage your teeth extra carefully. And you need to think extra carefully about what you put in your mouth.

Clean in morning and evening

Expect that it will take five to ten minutes to clean your teeth every morning and night. When dental scaffold frames and mounts stuck it often food particles and bacteria. Therefore, it is not enough regular brushing and fluoride toothpaste. You need small interdental brushes and special toothbrush or electric toothbrush. Finish by rinsing with fluoride.

If you are careless about cleaning becomes easy caries, tooth decay. The gums may bleed, become inflamed and sore. If you look after your teeth properly, you do not worry about it.

Brush your teeth with fluoride toothpaste. Use two row toothbrush or electric toothbrush with a special brush head.

Clean between your teeth and the tooth scaffold frames and mounts with interdental brushes. To access where the teeth are crowded, you may have soft, flossade toothpicks.

Rinse with fluorine each day.

Food and drink

Let the teeth to rest a couple of hours between each meal. Avoid acidic or sugary drinks and snacking between meals.

Choose water when you are thirsty.

To freshen up your smile and remove food particles, it can be nice to brush your teeth after you have eaten.

Do not bite hard or chewy things. Cut in pieces such as carrots, chewy steaks and hard apples, before you put them in your mouth. Do not eat caramel and toffee. Not to bite into hard or tough things reduces the risk of metal sash / wire sliding sideways or bend.
